Confined in Colossians (Colossians 2:6-8)

Preacher:
Passage: Colossians 2:6-8

During the COVID-19 pandemic and the mandated stay at home orders, as we worship in our homes, Pastor John leads the church through daily prayerful, meditative, and reflective readings of the New Testament book of Colossians.  The apostle Paul wrote this letter while he also was in quarantine, confined in prison around A.D. 60

Today’s takeaway # 6 – when the apostle Paul talks about being rooted in Christ (v. 7), which leads us to being built up, strengthened, and overflowing in thankfulness in the Lord, he is echoing what the Psalmist said earlier in Psalm 1 about how a blessed person who delights in the Lord is “like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither” (Psalm 1:3)
