“Quarantined in Psalm 119 (Psalm 119:153-160 ר Resh)”

Preacher:
Passage: Psalm 119:153-160

During the COVID-19 pandemic and the mandated stay at home orders, as we worship in our homes, Pastor John leads the church through daily prayerful, meditative, and reflective readings of the longest chapter in the entire Bible.  Psalm 119 is divided into 22 sections, one section for each letter of the Hebrew alphabet.  We will read a section a day, and then discuss together online in our church Facebook group.

Today’s takeaway # 20 – one of the themes we see repeated in Psalm 119 and again three times here in this passage (v. 154, 156, 159) is that of asking the Lord to “preserve my life.”  God, who is the giver of all life, is also the sustainer of life.  As the beautiful saying goes, “Our life is a gift from God.  What we do with that life is our gift to God.”
