Confined in Colossians (Colossians 1:9-14)

Preacher:
Passage: Colossians 1:9-14

During the COVID-19 pandemic and the mandated stay at home orders, as we worship in our homes, Pastor John leads the church through daily prayerful, meditative, and reflective readings of the New Testament book of Colossians.  The apostle Paul wrote this letter while he also was in quarantine, confined in prison around A.D. 60

Today’s takeaway # 2 – there are two kingdoms at work, sparring against each other for the lives of people - the kingdom of light (v. 12) and the dominion of darkness (v. 13).  The mighty power of God is fully revealed when the apostle Paul writes, “For [God] has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son He loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins” (vv. 13-14).  This is why Paul says in Ephesians 5:8, “For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord.  Live as children of light.”
