“Confined in Colossians (Colossians 1:1-8)”

Preacher:
Passage: Colossians 1:1-8

During the COVID-19 pandemic and the mandated stay at home orders, as we worship in our homes, Pastor John leads the church through daily prayerful, meditative, and reflective readings of the New Testament book of Colossians.  The apostle Paul wrote this letter while he also was in quarantine, confined in prison around A.D. 60.  We will read a section a day, and then discuss together online in our church Facebook group

Today’s takeaway # 1 – people of God are known by several key words and phrases that appear in this passage.  They are “holy” and “faithful” (v. 2);  they are known for their “faith in Christ Jesus” and the “love” they exhibit (v. 4);  they are filled with “hope” (v. 5);  they “bear fruit” while they exhibit “God’s grace” (v. 6) as they “love in the Spirit” (v. 7)
