“Quarantined in Psalm 119 (Psalm 119:129-136 פ Peh)”

Preacher:
Passage: Psalm 119:129-136

During the COVID-19 pandemic and the mandated stay at home orders, as we worship in our homes, Pastor John leads the church through daily prayerful, meditative, and reflective readings of the longest chapter in the entire Bible.  Psalm 119 is divided into 22 sections, one section for each letter of the Hebrew alphabet.  We will read a section a day, and then discuss together online in our church Facebook group.

Today’s takeaway # 17 – one of the greatest messages we read about in the Bible is that we can be set free completely from sin.  Whereas once we lived in bondage under the weight of sin, the power of God can set us free.  The Psalmist says here in v. 133b, “let no sin rule over me.”  The apostle Paul says in Romans 6:22, “Now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.”
